Summer Fitness in Nature Has a New Vibe
IRC Offers Yoga and Zumba in the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks
Whether you’re an amateur yogi in search of serenity or just looking for a new, zesty dance routine, IRC has some fun options for you! Starting this summer, there will be two new ways to explore the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. If you’ve already done plenty of hiking and mountain biking then it’s time to spice up your outdoor routine with yoga or some Zumba®.
On Thursday, July 9 and Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m., IRC will offer yoga in nature. This is an opportunity to experience the divine world of beginning yoga amidst the natural beauty of the Augustine Staging Area. Leave your worries behind and inhale the fresh air and positive energy as you enter the unique world of tranquility that yoga offers. Learn how to stretch, relax and truly inhale as your body is rejuvenated with each movement and breath. Please bring your own yoga mat and water, and be sure to wear layered clothing to ward off potentially chilly air.
If yoga isn’t your cup of tea, then Zumba may be a better fit. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. Join us on Friday, July 10 and again on Friday, Aug. 7 from 6:30p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Augustine Staging Area for an upbeat dancing experience. Zumba features the rhythmic and sultry moves of Salsa, Marenga, Flamenco and more that will get your entire body grooving. The different dance routines feature interval moves from fast to slow, adding in resistance training to tone and sculpt your body while burning calories. You don’t need to be an experienced dancer… just come out and dance with us in a beautiful natural setting. The first half hour of the program will consist of an introduction to the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks, various programs offered and a brief cultural history of the area. The remaining hour will be the core workout of Zumba, led by guest instructor Raquel Delgado from the YMCA of Long Beach. For more information about Zumba, please visit www.zumba.com.
